Reflection on Tech Usage

The data I have on my spreadsheet and data table about my tech usage is based on my observation so far. The most hours I spent on electronics is for productivity (which is forty two point five hours), second is for entertainment (which is ten hours), third is for other learning (which is six hours), fourth is for school work and communication (which both of them four hours), and fifth is for others (which have a quarter of an hour). Looking at the data, I am fairly satisfied with my data and design-wise (for the spreadsheet). The data is quite accurate and it is quite true to my usual daily activities, if not, just different a little bit.

I would consider my usage of electronics quite efficient because most of the things I've done is for productivity mostly, the only problem I would have is that my second most hours spent on electronics is for entertainment, it can be said as time wasting, but normally entertainment is needed to relax and sometimes a break from work would be rewarding enough. Other learning can be considered efficient as well, it is my third most time wasted so I think it is efficient. School work and communication is the fourth, I can consider it efficient since school work is done for me to be able to pass school and succeed, and communication is done so that I can socialize with people and communicate if I need to contact my parents. Others comes last, I consider it efficient since I don't do much there. Over all, I would say I am time-efficient with my usage of technology.

I can improve my usage of electronics as a student by researching more about subjects that I don't understand because sometimes, I tend to keep questions to myself, that way I can know that most of my time won't be wasted too much on entertainment. As a family member, I can use my electronics efficiently by making sure that I don't waste too much electricity in one room, we can all gather in one room to save money and spend time with each other. I can also use the electronics to communicate more with my friends or I can stop working on too much electronics to spend time with them. As a citizen, I can use the electricity less to not trouble the people working at PPLN.

When using my electronics, I always do things that has the highest priority then I will do the things that has lower priority, that way, the high priority things can have much more attention and that it can be done as quick as possible. Low priority things are marked low because it doesn't need to be done on the same day or that it can be postponed, but things that are marked high are very prioritized so it should be done as soon as possible. Low priority are also often the things I do as a reward after doing the high priority things.

Indonesia's Condition on Movie Imports

This is not a movie review but we're going to discuss it anyway. For more posts like this track the schooljournal label.

So far, we've known Indonesia had problems with the import of movies, and now the government and the new importer is getting themselves together.

The new importer named Omega is currently getting movies, and now it seems like the importer is going well. Omega only imports movies from the big 6 distributor, for other movies from another distributor, Amero usually imports it.

Movies now comes every Friday, usually later or in some occasions (like Tintin) earlier than the release date in USA.

It is unknown when will the schedule of the movies will get back on its track, but lately it has been going well. Let's see what will happen next year!

Adventures of Tintin - Secret of the Unicorn

The movie we're reviewing now is TINTIN! Yay TINTIN! Track the schooljournal label for more posts like this.

Adventures of Tintin has some of the big names in the business attached. Like Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson, Steve Moffat, and bunch of other people. Not to mention Andy Serkis, my favorite actor!

This post will contain different sections, since I feel like it! I'm also going to point out that the movie came out one month earlier than it did in America, I feel very lucky! :)

PLOT:

The movie combines the story of Crab with The Golden Claws, Secret of the Unicorn, and Red Rackham's Treasure. When they say combine, it really combines, as in really combines! I read the comics before and after watching the movie (that may sound crazy but....). Some aspects of the comics were in the movie but some of them are not. I thought the story will be continuous but it's not.

VISUAL APPEARANCE:

The movie was really brought well to life using motion capture technology. The design of the characters were true to the comics, though I'm not used to look at Tintin that way, he looks spooky at times but he's not very bad-looking ;). Thomson and Thompson were really true to the comic design I love that! The movie looked very real and the movements were very smooth, at some point *cough" Thomson and Thompson scenes *cough* looked to fake. Snowy is also very cute! Thanks for WETA for making the animation (they're the ones who made Gollum and King Kong).

SEQUELS:

I don't mind any sequels, bring them to me, I want them!!!

Critics:

Rotten Tomatoes so far gave the movie 86%. Roger Ebert haven't given any reviews. I will update this post once their done!

The movie is great, if you don't like Tintin watch it for the art, it's amazing :)

Real Steel

Time for another movie review, for more posts like this track the schooljournal label.

Real Steel is a movie I watched the day after Johnny English, which is good, a little comedy then a bit of drama and action.

Real Steel set on the year of 2020. The future was not as grand as what futuristic movie shows you, it looked like this year with a bit of improvements to technology. I find the story interesting as I love robots and action.

The movie shows more than just action but also character development as well emotion to the movie. Though I did not cry, my mom and sister did, means the movie was good :)

The movie was not about the robot or about the robots, it was about the child and the father and their bond that develops through the course of training and fighting robots. So, it's good.

The movie was no doubt, better than Johnny English Reborn. Though, I must say Johnny English is funnier. Real Steel must I say is a real movie.

If you like robots, watch this.
If you like action, watch this.
If you do not like robots, watch this.
If you do not like action, watch this.
Just watch it, it is a very good movie!

Critics:

Rotten Tomatoes gave it 58%, I do not know why as it was a very good movie, it is one of those rare occasions where I disagree with the tomatometer.

Silly premise notwithstanding, this is a well-made Hollywood movie: Thrilling and exciting action with just enough characterization

Roger Ebert gave 3 out of 4 stars (yay!)

Real Steel is a real movie. It has characters, it matters who they are, it makes sense of its action, it has a compelling plot. Sometimes you go into a movie with low expectations and are pleasantly surprised.

XXI keeps playing the movie, if you have a chance, watch it! Seriously!

Johnny English Reborn

This time, really sorry for not updating the blog for 4 times now...
You know what to do for more posts like this, right? :)

Anyway, Johnny English Reborn.

I watched the first Johnny English when I was young, and then lost the DVD. I regretted not watching it in preparation for this one. Anyway, I watched this at the Premiere with Livia and Ayme, it was fun, except I was the one sitting alone!

You know there's going to be spoilers, but not in this one or maybe others that I will post today, I will not be writing a summary of it, directly to my opinion.

Johnny English Reborn was said to be a darker approach from the other movie, but it still retain its funny qualities. I wouldn't say it was very awesome, it was funny, but I doubt watching it the second time will be as funny as the first. Some of the jokes though, are really funny...

I really admire Rowan Atkinson's performance, he's really funny, I really like his comedic action be it from his voice or actions.

I prefer this one over the first movie, because it is simply funnier. I missed the first part of the movie, but that's fine because it wasn't such a big deal.

The movie wasn't that bad, but there might be room for improvements.

From the critics:

Rotten tomatoes ranked the movie 38% which is a fall from the first movie which has 40% more or so..

Arguably a marginal improvement on its mostly-forgotten predecessor, Johnny English Reborn nonetheless remains mired in broad, tired spy spoofing that wastes Rowan Atkinson's once considerable comedic talent

Anyway, the movie was fine if you're looking for some laughs.

Scream Awards!!

Scream Awards was held on October 15 2011, it was aired on Spike TV during October 18 2011.
The show is dedicated for horror, fantasy, sci-fi genres be it movies, TV shows, and comic books.
It is the sixth annual award show.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and X-Men: First Class led with 14 nominations each. Captain America with 11 nominations. Thor with 9 nominations. True Blood and Game of Thrones with 7 nominations each. Walking Dead with 6 nominations.

Green Lantern

Hello, today is another movie review..
Let's just say last week I managed to watch a movie, Green Lantern. My mom refused to watch Smurfs, so yeah..

I watched this last week, and despite the bashing for this movie, I watch it anyway because I have nothing else to watch.

Since I have to make 3 post at the same time, I won't write a summary assuming everyone knows the story and the fact that some people hate spoilers (I know I do!)

So let's just say this.... (a dialog with me (T), my sister (A), and parents (P))

When the movie opens...

T: The warner bros logo is green! I knew it!
A: Me too!
T: What were the colors of the logo for the HP movies?

The first surprise scene...

T: (Shocked while eating hot dogs) That caught me by surprise!

When we first see parallax..

P: Are you scared?
T: What? No!

More special FX things and loud noises..

T: It is loud!

After movie is finished...

T: There might be a post-credit scene.
A: Let's wait.
P: What are we doing?
A: Just wait.
T: Everybody is clearing up. Let's just walk out slowly..

Let's just get things straight. The movie was not as awful as what I imagined it to be, but it is loud and has large amount of Special FX. So, it's not that bad, if you have time and love action with a hint of comedy and many special FX, watch it, but considered yourself warned (for the loud noises).

What critics said:

Rotten Tomatoes: 27%

Noisy, overproduced, and thinly written, Green Lantern squanders an impressive budget and decades of comics mythology.

Roger Ebert: 2.5/4

"Green Lantern does not intend to be plausible. It intends to be a sound-and-light show, assaulting the audience with sensational special effects. If that's what you want, that's what you get."

It is not as bad as what I thought it would be.

To and Fro!! Production!!!

This the second part of movie making which is production section!!

I was actually hoping to watch Smurfs and write a review out of it, but none of us (me and my friends) actually has the time to watch it..

So, today is another section of

Today is the production time otherwise known as shooting time.

Production time is when you start the shooting, all of the things are set up and actors come there and start shooting.
Dressing and lighting mostly takes a long time, then after that shooting starts.
The shooting itself takes many components, there is what you call some lines that should be said before shooting, during shooting, and after shooting, it is used mostly in American Production.
The production takes the longest of the 3 parts, it may take months and maybe years.
After shooting itself is done the production office usually throws a wrap party to celebrate the finishing of the movie and to thank the people for their work.

To and Fro!! Pre-Production!!

Yesterday (well, last week) I wrote a post about a summary of movie making, now, we're getting more and more detailed in each of the parts.

Today it's about Pre-Production!

Pre-production is probably just some fancy term of preparation. This is the point where the producers get the copyrights, the story of the movie.
Then they'd get a screenwriter to write the screenplay.
After doing those things, the people would get a film distributor to promote and distribute the movie.

Then they will make the film pitch (which is like a presentation) so that the movie will get green-light (that means it's now fine to go to further into production).

The movie then would get to its next stage. This is where the movie is designed and planned. There will be storyboard making with illustrators and concept artist.

After that the movie will get to its casting session. That is where the director, the crew, and the actors were hired. And there is a lot of people to be hired.

To make long story short. Pre-production is where it all begins, without pre-production, there'll be no movie. Pre-production is also the stage before the shooting (or production). Pre-production is like the bone of the movie. So, the people who worked behind the scenes has it rougher. Especially a producer.

To and Fro!! Introduction!!!

Time for another journal post, and I am short on movies to review. HAHA! Anyway, I still need to post something, and so I will do something new! Please click on SchoolJournal, to see my previous post :)

First, the title may not have anything to do with the topic, I just find it very catchy after reading Narnia books :P

This post is all about introduction! This is to introduce people to have a little bit of idea what's going to be here.

Movie making is divided into 3 main stages (which I will cover each week).

There is Pre-Production. That is where all the things is done before starting shooting. This is where script writing, set building, crews and cast are casted, producers finding rights, etc. This is where all of the things starts.

Second is Production. That is when shooting happens, the raw elements will be recorded.

The last one is Post-Production. That is where the editing, special effects adding, recording the soundtrack, and stuff like that takes place. This is a very crucial part. If the movie is in 3D, this is where the converting takes place.

For people who likes behind the scenes and stuff like this (I DO!) it is good to watch Peter Jackson's videos of The Hobbit's production diaries. I learn a lot of movie making from that. He also uploaded videos for the King Kong production diaries and now it is available in DVD format. Even though you do not like movie making, just watch it, it's cool! Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Hi, this is finally Sunday! (again). Time for another movie review! You can find here SchoolJournal. See the picture below to see the movie I'm going to be reviewing!

Btw, notice the new template? I did not make it, I edit it. :)

I am supposed to do a review of POTC a long time ago, but it got delayed by the 2 previous post (X-Men and Captain). Then I gave up on writing about this one because I thought that I would be watching Rise of the Planets of the Apes after Captain America, (but no!) I have no one to watch it with. My sister was actually okay with it but has a test coming up, my parents are more interested in Conan, and my friends doesn't have any interest on movies with monkeys in it (King Kong too!)

Anyway this movie was loosely based on the book of the same name.

SPOILER ALERT Plot and/or ending details follow below. (Skip section)

If you watched the last POTC movie, you will see that Jack Sparrow had a map that showed "The Fountain of Youth", the movie follows that storyline.

Jack went out to search for the fountain of youth only to found out that he had to do it with a bad pirate called Blackbeard who had a daughter named Angelica (who was Jack Sparrow's love interest).

They were actually on a race with the Spanish and Captain Barbossa (who now works for the Government).

Blackbeard had powers from his ship where his sword could control the ship and the fact that he can zombify people. He also does voodoo and shrinks ship to put on special little bottles.

Joining their adventure was a young priest and a mermaid.

Long story short, they had to find 2 chalices, mermaid tears, and the fountain of youth itself. The first chalice must be filled with the water from the fountain of youth with the mermaid tears while the second one has the water from the fountain only. Drinking the one with the tear will make you live forever.

When they arrived there, they found out that Captain Barbossa and the Spanish arrived there too. They fought until Blackbeard and Angelica were dying, Jack got the cup and filled it with the specific contents and gave it to Angelica and Blackbeard, Angelica was willing to sacrifice herself for her father by thinking she was drinking the one without the tears but Jack switched it, so Blackbeard died.

Time for the critics!

Rottentomatoes: 33%

It's shorter and leaner than the previous sequel, but this Pirates runs aground on a disjointed plot and a non-stop barrage of noisy action sequences.

Roger Ebert: 2 stars.

"although the removal of Knightley and Bloom as well as the addition of Cruz were positive aspects, the film in general was "too much of a muchness" for him.".

Anyway, for me, the movie was okay, I do enjoy it but it was too much I think. 3/5 stars. It is enjoyable but many people (who probably does not follow the other POTC movie may find it hard to understand the movie (I think that's what happened to my older cousin in Singapore). I was expecting more from this though.

Hi, this is finally Sunday, my last chance to update, let's go! You can find more movie reviews here SchoolJournal. Today is time for more Superhero Movies!!

As stated in my previous post, I am very fond of superhero movies, it's my type of movie. I watched it on Friday immediately when it premiered. I have to watch all of the independent avengers movie one by one before watching the ensembled avengers movie. Now, I am looking for the Hulk movie :)

Did you know despite being the first avenger, Captain America was the last avenger movie to be released and that this is the last movie to be distributed by Paramount? [unnecessary].

The movie was set around WWII. Steve Rogers (Captain America) was a very scrawny boy that hates bullies or walking away from a fight. He signed up for soldier recruitment but was rejected (5 times!). Meanwhile, Johann Schmidt the leader of HYDRA an intel group for Hitler, was looking for something called the tesseract.

Steve Rogers was then recruited and was turned into a super soldier (because a weak man knows power and will not take it for granted :) ). He managed to save people from one of the HYDRA's member, but he still wasn't acknowledged since he was just an experiment. One day when his friend, Bucky, was captured, he went looking for him. He brought back every captured soldier and saved Bucky. For acknowledgement, he then made his own group. He then got a new shield (thanks to Howard Stark, who also resembles his son a lot) and became good friends with Peggy Carter (who was his love interest too, she was very masculine which is awesome).

During an encounter with Johann Schmidt, the Captain found out that Schmidt was also injected with the serum and Schmidt revealed to the Captain his red skull and the name Red Skull (btw, he didn't have nose and ear too!).

During the final battle, Red Skull was killed when he touched the tesseract, and the Captain had to land the plane (which they were both in) at the Arctic and was in a deep sleep in the ice.

Then it showed 70 years later, the Captain had awaken in present time New York City.

Let's see what the critics know:

Rottentomatoes: 78%

With plenty of pulpy action, a pleasantly retro vibe, and a handful of fine performances, Captain America is solidly old-fashioned blockbuster entertainment.

Roger Ebert: 3 stars.

"I enjoyed the movie. I appreciated the 1940s period settings and costumes, which were a break with the usual generic cityscapes. I admired the way that director Joe Johnston propelled the narrative. I got a sense of a broad story, rather than the impression of a series of sensational set pieces. If Marvel is wise, it will take this and Iron Man as its templates".

For me the movie was great, better than Thor, but I still prefer Iron Man over this. It also have some meaningful morale in it and I think Steve Rogers is a person that everybody can look up to. So, 4/5 stars. It has comedy, action, and cool effects :)

By the way, this was not the surprise review I was going for :)

X-Men: First Class

I actually have watched this a long time ago. Just wanted to do a review now since I have no movies to review. I watched this with my sister first, then with my father, mom was too busy with work. No popcorn, no snacks. Phooey.

I don't know whether this movie is suppose to be a prequel or a reboot, I guess it was a prequel though, but they did make some mistake with the history, let's just wait and see (for the sequel if they make one :) ).

My family love watching superhero movies, Marvel or DC, any of them (though most movies are Marvel). I am especially looking forward to The Avengers, so is my family. Me and my sister likes X-Men, so we have to watch this movie. Who wouldn't want to have powers? I want to :)

The movie tells of the story of Professor X and Magneto when they were still young (mainly where Professor X was still walking and had hair).

Charles Xavier lived in luxury when he met young Raven Darkholme (Mystique) and they became foster siblings. While Erik Lensherr lived in the holocaust time and got his mother killed after not being able to move a coin, he wanted to avenge his mother by killing the man who killed her, Sebastian Shaw.

Moira MacTaggert, who wass a CIA agent, witnessed the powers of the Hellfire Club members (guess who's the leader). She sought help from Charles about mutants. To make a long story short, they also met Erik.

They gathered other mutants (Angel, Darwin, Banshee, Havok) to get help them defeat Shaw (who plans to start WWIII). When Shaw came to the CIA Headquarters and gave pep talk about "Rising up to rule", Angel joined him, and Darwin died.

They also have a training montage where all the mutants trained and where Erik found out that anger was not the only to trigger his powers.

Raven on the other hand have problems with her appearance and became worried on how she looks. She finally got a cure from Hank McCoy (Beast) to get rid of her hideous looks, but she decided not to use the cure (because of the talk Erik gave her). Hank used the cure (to make his giant feet normal) and ended up looking hideous.

In the final battle, the X-Men tried to move Shaw's submarine from the line that separates US from Russia. They succeeded and got the submarine to an island. There Erik went looking for Shaw and finally killed him by forcing a coin to his brain.

Erik decided to kill the army (they were there) by targeting the missiles they shot at the mutants. In the process of stopping Erik, Charles got shot in the spine, then he goes, "I can't feel my legs." Erik then starts his own alliance of mutants that hates humans.

That summary feels long, let's see what the critics said.

Rottentomatoes: 87%

With a strong script, stylish direction, and powerful performances from its well-rounded cast, X-Men: First Class is a welcome return to form for the franchise.

Roger Ebert: 2 and a half star.

"high-tech and well-acted" but merely "competent weekend entertainment. It is not a great comic book movie."

Personally, I really liked the movie and I wish they'd make a sequel, it was really awesome, they also did great casting. The special FX though sometimes doesn't look good, but it was great anyway. I don't really know why Roger Ebert disliked the movie, but every man to his word. 4.5/5 for me, it has slight flaws that I kept wondering about. Still excited watching it the second time, still pumped. The soundtrack is also awesome :)

King Kong + Other update!

Hello, here's my update on today's blog. I also have nothing to do here anyways.
Today I will be discussing about King Kong (because I don't have any current movies to review). For more like this please click SchoolJournal

This is the 2005 version of King Kong directed by one of my favorite directors, Peter Jackson. There are 3 versions of King Kong, the first one made in 1933 using the stop motion technique and the second remade is in 1976 starring Jeff Bridges.

I remembered when I was young being scared watching this until I cannot eat :P. I also remembered how this movie is dominating the cinema by filling 4/5 of the studios there. I also remembered watching this along side my big family. I wasn't very serious in watching this back then, but I got interested in watching this again for my love of monkeys :)

This movie was remade by Peter Jackson (as mentioned before) who is very famous for his Lord of the Rings trilogy adaption and so far the only movie adaption of a book that has gained 90% and up in rottentomatoes for every movie (he must be doing something right!). Another thing about this movie is that Andy Serkis (also made famous from his Lord of the Rings portrayal of Gollum/Smeagol) is the one portraying King Kong in this movie using motion capture!!

The movie tells of a determined movie maker, named Carl Denham, who wanted to make a movie in an island called Skull Island (chills). He tricked all of the people working on the movie, except for the ship crew (they rode a ship) saying they all would be going to Singapore.

When arriving in Skull Island, the lead actress named Ann Darrow was kidnapped by the natives of the island to be presented to their leader, a 25-feet gorilla. The other members of the movie production decided to go and save Ann, while Carl was still carrying his camera recording things around him.

In the process of saving Ann, Carl found out that his camera was destroyed, so he decided to kidnapped the gorilla to gain money from putting it up as an attraction. Ann, who was saved by the gorilla tried to stop him, but there's nothing she could do.

When King Kong was brought to New York he seemed helpless until some flash photography caused him to went berserker. He went looking for Ann and kidnapped her again but Ann found out that Kong meant no harm.

The military found Kong and started shooting at him, so Kong climbed up to the World Trade Center. Then after a few moments getting attacked, Kong then died getting shot. Ann watched in horror.

Time for the critics's opinion!

Rotten Tomatoes: 84%

Peter Jackson's dream project is as good as event movies get; King Kong is visually spectacular and emotionally resonant.

Roger Ebert: 4 stars

There are astonishments to behold Peter Jackson's new King Kong, but one sequence, relatively subdued, holds the key to the movie's success.

The movie for me was great, I love Andy Serkis's performance and the movie itself, but it can be a bit shorter (it took me almost a week to finish it!). 4/5 stars from me! From this movie I look forward for more of Peter Jackson's movies and Andy Serkis's movies as well.

This post however is not finished. As you may know that there's a lack of movie premiere here in Indonesia after Harry Potter, Transformers, Fast Five, and Kung Fu Panda, it is because local movies are coming but not the lame ones with stupid horror themes, they are quality movies. While waiting there has been a list of movies that will come after the quality local movies are done coming.

Kung Fu Panda 2

Hello, this is my second week of doing the school journal thing. As you may see I added in spoiler tags for everybody's convenience. Back to topic, let's see what we have in store for us today.

First, I went to watch this with my friends after our school's independence day celebration. We raced to East Coast Center some of us by foot and some of us by car. Fun! Then we raced to the cinema, and frankly we got seats 2 rows from the bottom (for girls) and 3 rows from the bottom (for boys). We can only watch it at 13.50, so we have to get that seat. We bought snacks and drinks and now I think I have a sore throat. I was quite nauseous, but it all paid off. By the way there were many students from Cita Hati there as well as teachers :)

This time the story tells after Po had been declared as the dragon warrior. This time they have a new villain named Lord Shen who had been banished by his parents. Lord Shen plans to take over China using fireworks (I guess the reason they did this is because it's eye candy for 3D). So, Po had to save China.

While saving China, Po had some problem with his past, he was confused about it because he'd finally realized that his father (Mr. Ping) was not really his real father and Mr. Ping said he found Po in his box of radishes.

During the adventure, Po then noticed that Lord Shen was the one responsible for his parents' (and race') death. So, Po technically is avenging his parents's death and saving China.

The plot looks cliche, but it has a nice moral to it. As usual this movie brought me laughs and other people too. One of my favorite quotes from the movie

Soothsayer: Your story may not have such a happy beginning, but that doesn't make you who you are. it is the rest of your story, who you choose to be... So, who are you, Panda?

Let's see what the critics had to say

Rotten Tomatoes: 82 %

The storyline arc may seem a tad familiar to fans of the original, but Kung Fu Panda 2 offers enough action, comedy, and visual sparkle to compensate.

Roger Ebert: 3 and a half star

"Kung Fu Panda 2" is exactly as you'd expect, and more. The animation is elegant, the story is much more involving than in the original, and there's boundless energy.

As for me I enjoyed the movie a lot, same as the first one the moral is also good, so it's a 4/5 stars from me :)

Transformers - Dark of the Moon

Hello there! This is the start of my blogging for school "thingy", so I'm going to start with something simple, a movie review! For more of the school journal posts find it under the label schooljournal

Of course, I watched the final installment of Harry Potter before but because of the overwhelming "popularity" it has, I won't do a review. Today's review:

During last Sunday, I went to Grand City to watch Transformers, we got decent seats thanks to my father's workers. Kenny actually offered me to watch Harry Potter again for free, but I had to decline since I'm not fond of movie marathons (I never have one actually). Me and my family went and watched it in 2-D, I'd heard some reviews over how cool the 3-D usage of the movie, but we save money to buy snacks :)

The movie tells the story of a secret hidden on the moon, of course it had connection with the autobots, the secret is a spaceship called the ARK which I presumed to used by the alien robots to escape. There is this new autobot called Sentinel Prime who used to be a leader of the autobots. Sentinel Prime invented things useful for the autobots one of them was a teleporting device (which plays a bigger part near the end of the movie).

Sentinel Prime betrayed his race because he had made a deal with the decepticons so that cybertron can survive. He used the teleportation device to bring the whole cybertron to earth (which me and my sister find very absurd). So, that's all basically.

The plot was mainly that. I find the special FX very appealing but the story was meh. Also the new girl was more of a damsel in distress rather than what Megan Fox did in the previous movie. I enjoyed the comedy of the movie, but I kept yawning at the final battle because I think it was too long.

So, here is what the critics think:

Rotten Tomatoes: 36 %

Its special effects -- and 3D shots -- are undeniably impressive, but they aren't enough to fill up its loud, bloated running time, or mask its thin, indifferent script

Roger Ebert (one of my favorite movie critics): One star

a visually ugly film with an incoherent plot, wooden characters and inane dialog. It provided me with one of the more unpleasant experiences I've had at the movies.

For me it's a 1.5/5 stars, just because of the awesome FX and comedy :)

Post-Character Camp

Why, hello there. It has been a very long time since I've been updating the blog. Why? I don't know.
Anyway, I am writing this from school. How cool is that :)

Our school now requires us to write in our blog at least once a week with a topic that we're gonna do for the rest of the school year. I'll be doing something that has movies in it. You know.
I'll be filing it in the label schooljournal

So, I'll start the school journal thing around tomorrow. Because I am writing about the Character Camp that I've been to. It's not our usual camp, it is literally a camp, literally. We sleep in tents, make some of our own food, and bond with nature (?).

It was very tiring, we did many outbonds and little sessions. It was fine for me, though the walk was terrible. We had Excellent Leader Training preparing the camp, they also did the LDKS for OSIS sometime last year, but they're nicer here, feels nice.

The cooking part was also terrible, Kenny helped cook my food, but our frying pan was already burnt the last time, so we ended up eating burnt food, that's why I ate a little. The dish washing part was also terrible, we had to wash our plates standing up because there was no sink, the ground started turning into mud and trust me that's the only reason why my shoes were dirty.

Let's see. The toilet, not only they're far, but also they are way too small and too little in number. The water was ice cold and the weather didn't support the condition. Here's a little dialog

Me: Man, this is so cold.

Kenny: Yes.

Me: (Joking) Hey, how's it going? Wonderful weather we're having.

Stefani: What WONDERFUL weather we're having. (Sarcastic)

So, the weather also changes frequently.

The bon fire was also small, we did nothing but pray then warm ourselves and went to sleep. I wanna make smores!

Anyway, I was in one group with Kenny. We tried to be normal, but that went downhill.

Me & Kenny: Hey, how's it going wonderful weather we're having. I've never felt so, normal.

Mr. Patrick: Trust me, you guys are no where near normal.

Me: I'm abnormal and I'm proud! Abnormal and proud!

Well, those are the only thing that may interest you.

Anyway. As of August 1, my blog is officially one! Yay!

Me No Happy Saga Pt. 1

I present to you...

Part 1

So, few days ago, I posted something about the lack of movies in Indonesia, and it's almost our holiday! Now I'm just getting desperate. I really hope they can work something out. Already missed X-Men First Class you know.. :'( (unless somehow a miracle will happen) and they said it was good. Let's just see what will happen, all I know is that we can't stay like this forever.

On another note (another me no happy) is the fact that our band was almost falling apart, let's just see what is about to happen tomorrow, the day of our performance.

Well, one more is the fact that I kept having this stomachache, which I hate! Ah, my stomach. I don't know what happened. Seriously.

I don't know, this topic came out of no where...

Anybody knows that movies won't be coming out in Indonesia (for a while, I hope). I was actually quite casual about this, until the moment that summer movies were about to premiere! Also the fact that I kept opening imdb either from my iPad or laptop. Yunita tried to stop me though, you're a good friend Yunita, thank you... :')

Sad, I kept opening this link to see if there's any improvement, and they got some rumors that X-Men First Class may play here. Let's just hope that this is true, and that it may be the start of movies coming back to Indonesia *fingers crossed*

I just can't remember the last movie I saw.. maybe because it has been so long..

So, I hope that there might be some improvement, I hope they got Pirates, Kung Fu Panda and other movies to come out here..

I changed my template because I've been watching SpongeBob movie. I have no idea why I want to watch it again actually, but it reminds me of my childhood. SpongeBob is timeless.

Been watching MythBusters lately, so addicting. I like watching those kind of stuff, makes Science feels actually fun..

My B'day + Movie Review (Updated!!!)

Sorry for not updating in a long time (as my sister would say, "I'm not dead")
(Edit: BTW, Kenny said something was unusual about my blog since I didn't tell the full story.. so I edit it)

As you know, 3 February was my birthday!! Horray!!
People would actually invite people to a breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc. But I invited my friends for a movie watching... and it's GREEN HORNET!! IN 3-D!!!!

There were 8 people who watched it... who?
Me (duh!), Yunita, Ayme, Livia, Brahma, Kenny, Chandra, and Josiah.
We all wore black/green (except for Kenny and Josiah, they wore red!!)
When we arrived we met up at the food court, me and Livia arrived late... we managed to get decent seats though..
Before the movie start, we bought pop corns and hot dogs, then when we went to the cinema, it was not that crowded.. (Reminds me when watching TRON), looks like people prefer watching the 2-D one.

At the end of the movie...

Anyway..... the movie was good!!!! I was expecting it to be usual, but it was better than I expected, thank goodness!! Hollywood movies, I now expect more!!

The movie was really good. The rating? 4/5 stars ^^ why? It's action-comedy (HECK YEAH!!)

Few good things we have to point out from the movie

Good thing they star Jay Chou as Kato (or Kenny wouldn't have much interest in watching) and also for giving a chance for Jay Chou to do hollywood movies (and develop his English).
I don't think Seth did a bad job (maybe cause I've never watched Green Hornet). It's great that a screenplay writer can play a character too..

Many people said the movie was not good, but not for me, I may even watch it twice!!

Forgot to tell you.. We came in a bit late.. which stinks, it was like 2-3 minutes or more, but still...

Anyway, it was a great day!! Got some awesome presents too! I want to upload the picture, but I'm too lazy...

Anyway, today, me and my family went and eat at Golden Rama.. nothing interesting, but after that my mom and dad dropped me, my sister, and my older cousin to Galaxy Mall so we can watch GULLIVER'S TRAVELS!!

I was looking forward to watching it because, first, it stars Jack Black. I like his comedic acts.. well, I'm really looking forward for this movie and I tried not to get my hopes up to high like for Tron: Legacy.

Onto The REVIEW!!

Plot? Yep, interesting plot indeed. It have many comedy, which is good for me!!

Effects? Yep, cool.

Worth watch in 3-D? Not really actually, considering that it was actually a 2-D movie at first. But, all the theaters here only have in 3-D Except for some maybe..

Critics (rotten tomatoes) said that the movie was not that good, maybe it's because (like my sister said) this movie focuses too much on the joke.. well, I liked it, it was fun!!

OSIS Parting Party

Series Review: K-ON!!

Hello everyone!!
I just feel like I have to post this..!

Anyway, just to note K-ON!! is an anime, but that doesn't mean I'm a anime freak!
(and today I feel kinda lazy to go and put some of Mikatan's emoticons)

Anyway this is the FIRST EVER SERIES REVIEW!!!

Just like other reviews I'm gonna go through the stuff I think is important!

Onto the Review!!
IT'S ABOUT K-ON!!

Let's get through it!! K-ON!! is the second season of K-ON!. The exclamation mark represents the number of season.

Anyway, the story is about some girls making a band and it follows their lives like eating cakes and drinking tea after school, this time the other four girls is about to graduate and leaving one girl behind, so this season focuses more on them trying to find new members so that one girl will not feel alone.

Much like an American Sitcom, only it's in Japanese and it's animated.

The Main Characters:

YUI HIRASAWA: The melody guitarist for the band, she loves sweets and anything cute (as she stated). Her color is red or dark pink.

MIO AKIYAMA: The bass player, she is shy and a scaredy cat, she is also left handed, she is also the tallest among all of them, she is childhood friends with Ritsu. Her color is blue.

AZUSA NAKANO: The rhythm guitar player, she is the youngest and is the girl who is supposed to be left behind, she is famous for her cat impression. Her color is turquoise or green.

RITSU TAINAKA: The drummer, she is a tomboyish and is the childhood friend of Mio often making fun of Mio, she is the self-proclaimed president of the club. You can tell she is my favorite character. Her color is yellow.

TSUMUGI KOTOBUKI: The keyboardist, she comes from a wealthy family and she often brings snacks stating she have leftovers at home, she serves tea there. She have thick eyebrows and Yui calls them pickled radish, once imagining Yui, herself, eating the radish. Her color is light pink or light purple.

There are actually other characters.
Anyway.. Here is the review

REVIEW: (Review material comes from animesuki forums)

Animation Quality: Good, the picture looks very flexible, it looks really detailed, very real, though sometimes it looks to flexible it looks too weird. 8/10
Voice Actors: Great, they did a great job though sometimes voice is unstable, I love Ritsu's voice actress - Satomi Sato, the best, she did a really great job, and Mio's voice actress - Yoko Hikasa, have a really great singing voice. 9/10
Script/Plot: I can say the script is good, I mean I like the way that each stories can stand alone, you don't have to watch one episode in order to understand another episode. The comedy is good as well. 9/10
Editing: Great, I edit some videos as well, and I can say what they did is great, I don't see anything wrong. 10/10
Soundtrack: Their soundtrack is good, the opening and ending are great, but sometime Yui's high pitched voice can hurt my ears. The background scores are pretty good I guess. 8/10
Enjoyment: You can enjoy K-ON!! very well, I doesn't require any series theory (like in Harry Potter where you should what are Death Eaters and Horcruxes), K-ON!! only requires basic knowledge. 10/10
Emotional Involvement: Watching this can make you feel happy, sad, etc. 9/10
OVERALL RATING: 9/10

Wow, that scores pretty high for a series for me. I may be thinking of doing others!! Horray!!

I've been so excited for this movie, and I couldn't wait to get to the cinema along side Ayme. But the first we said when we got there is...

"It's not that crowded"

Since the internet said this was one of the most anticipated movies of 2010, we thought the line was gonna be long (also because today is the premiere), but there was like 5-8 people, and I think some of them were not gonna watch Tron.

We got great seats, but when we went into the movie theatre, the theatre was pretty deserted (no offense), I thought it was because today is not a holiday. Since like 20 or 30 (maybe less) people were there, the theatre felt so cold!

So onto the movie...

The movie was not horrible nor it was magnificent. The movie was okay.. kind of disappointing. The trailer was like WOW!!! (as my sister said) but the movie wasn't that good. I was kind of disappointed as well because I was really anticipating for it.

Effects? Cool

Movie/Plot? Fine, it has a flare of comedy as well, but they can do more.

Worth a watch in 3-D? Yeah, a little. Since it's holiday, come by and watch it in 3-D during weekdays, it's cheaper, but to people who don't want to, I guess watching it in 2-D is not a bad idea.

Rating? 3.5/5

Funny thing:

Me: Why wouldn't they (Livia and Yunita) come watch Tron: Legacy with us? It looks cool.

Ayme: I know. They're gonna rue it.

Come to think of it, I don't think they're gonna rue it...

As some of you know I read the novel back at 7th grade, and to be honest, I forgot the whole plot...
I don't even know if the g**** m*** is even there (or is it??)

Aww well, then as I said I watched the 3-D one, gave me a headache.. but it's worth it I guess
For the movie I rate it around 4/5 (maybe?)

Second TANGLED!

I'm not very fond of Disney Princess movies, but this one looks very interesting, Kenny said it's the last one for the Princess thingy..
So, I watched a 3-D movie (again)
GOSH!!

I watched it with Kenny, Livia, Brahma, Yunita, and Ayme, I don't know why Josiah didn't come along..

Since we came kind of late, we got tickets at the lower seats, but I think you seat lower to get better view of the 3-D effect

So for this movie, I rate it 4/5 as well, it was good..

Gosh! I 'm having a big headache and what's even worst:

Hello people! Today is Friday! Aren't you glad?!

So today, pretty much nothing can be discussed about, but I'm just gonna tell that I have a new template!!

Anywhooo...

I watched the movie with my sister and parents at the PREMIERE

SWEET! The place was awesome, no wonder it's expensive!

Anyway, I can't really rate movies, but the movie was pretty good, I understand nothing about it since all of them was... you know, I rate it as 3 out of 5 because I'm not much of a Harry Potter fan.

This is the time I watched another HP movies in like 4 years... the last one I watched was the fourth one.

So, the movie was pretty intense, but there're just too many deaths... and BTW, my sister like have this "liking" to random actors for some time, but I guess it can wear off. This time, my sister likes the actor who plays Ron...

Anyway I can't wait for some releases (movies or other things)!

Book Review: Diary of a Wimpy Kid 5: The Ugly Truth

I did say I may go on Hiatus, but I just need to do this.

BOOK REVIEW!!

Okay, so technically this is, like my first book review, so any advice on how to make it better, please comment!

So, let's get started.

The book I'm going to review today, is DIARY OF A WIMPY KID 5: THE UGLY TRUTH.
Here is the cover~!

I've been a fan of Wimpy Kid books since like forever, I just got the book today from Periplus and boy! was it expensive! I promised myself not to read it until the Semester Exams are over, but I just couldn't help it! At first I only opened the plastic wrappings, but then I realized I finished the book!

So all I can say is just that this book is as awesome as the previous ones! I really like the pictures and everything! I think Jeff Kinney really did a great job!
I won't be telling the summary because I'm sure somebody will not be happy about it. (kenny)

So I rate it 6/5! Same as all the other Wimpy Kid books!

Is this the end??!!
Well, I guess not because last time I researched at Wikipedia, it says there may be more Wimpy Kid books! And in the page with "other Wimpy Kid books" it says there'll be more Wimpy Kid books!
Will there be more??!!
I sure hope so!

Madme Island & DBL!

So anyway, to day has been a pretty long day. I watched a basketball tournament (DBL) and my school won!! Horray!!
So, I'm really tired, and pretty hungry because I only ate a cheese burger and medium fries (I should've eaten the triple cheese burger)

Okay, but the DBL comes last, because I'm going to discuss about The MADME ISLAND!

So, Madme Island is the open house stall in the Open House for my school, so I'm pretty happy that I'm a part.

HELLO PEOPLE!!!

Anyway, today at Indonesian class we talked about letters, and there's this formal letter that you could put logos on and I'm thinking of making one!!

It's probably lame... or just stupid.. but it's worth a shot to make it! I worked really hard on it!

First:
There's a new Diary of a Wimpy Kid book! Yes, it is my favorite book series!
It's the last one I guess and it is called The Ugly Truth. Thanks for Kenny for telling me.

I'M BACK!!

Hey, Hey! I'm back from my vacation, it's a pretty short one actually.
Anyway...
I went to Singapore and I'm not that excited because I went there a lot.

So, I went to Universal Studios, This is my second time, and I gotta say there's not much different with the studio.
But here's the new one:

I went to ride the Canopy Flyer (I didn't ride it the last time and now I ride it, but I cannot enjoy it because I have to keep my crocs from falling down, the roller coaster is a suspended kind where your feet dangles down)
I ride the Mummy coaster (Revenge of the Mummy, and I gotta say, it was so fast, I mean it was so fast that I almost flew out of the cart)
I watched the Monsters Rock musical (pretty good I guess)

So, I think going to the Universal Studios is like repeating the same activities, also I went there with my cousins, grandma, aunt, uncle, etc.

Other thing I went to have check up, teeth and eyes, and I went to see Voyage de La Vie, and it was pretty good I can't really understand the story.

Hello!
Today practically I have nothing else to blog about so, I should probably do a movie review..
I have nothing else to blog, so here it is...

The Movie is THE LAST AIRBENDER

I've watched that movie since like last 1 or 2 weeks ago, and I haven't done any review and figured out that this may be a good time to do so.

Let's just say... everybody knows about Avatar the great Nickelodeon show, I really liked it, my favorite characters are Azula and Toph. And it was a great show. Just like any fan, an adaption is really gonna be great, and I was excited too at first. Even though people said it was bad, I insisted on watching it!

So here comes the harsh part...
Let me say, the movie was horrible!!!! (sorry..) The characters doesn't resemblance their character, the acting was not that good (my sister said so). No good effects, Mispronunciation of the characters name.
Watch this (reference for the characters names mispronunciation):

Practically, I was very excited and begged my parents to watch it in 3D, but, the 3D effect was not that much used. It was only used for the opening and ending credits.

What disappoints me most of all....

AZULA TURNED OUT HORRIBLE!!!!! SHE WAS RUINED!!!

The person who played Azula doesn't looked like her at all.. (she was played by Summer Bishil, she is Indian, she's not ugly but the idea of her playing Azula is not that good) I don't know how the concept of Firebenders being Indians came from
I can't really tell because we only caught a little glimpse of her...

Great, can't wait to see how Toph'll look like...

Anyway, for me I cannot rate it from the scale 1 to 5, but I can tell it's not a five!

Extra, Aang's nostrils (in the movie poster (you can see it in the theaters)) flared up (my cousin said) like Brahma's!!! (Can't really find a picture of it, but trust me!)

Okay, so hey, back with another post..
And now we talk about TUX!

Why?
Simple, because Kenny (Drama King Penguin, you can find his blog in the links section) was wearing one, and let me tell you, it was HIDEOUS! (No offense, but you look too formal)

Okay, so here's the story...
During Journalism (an extracurricular I picked and he picked) the teacher (Mr. Belfin) asked us to bring casual clothes for our introduction video. I forgot to bring it because I seem to forget this kind of stuff. Kenny then came in saying that he brought a tux and go changed. When he returned he looks the most formal, and the most hideous one. Too bad he didn't brought a tie, (but Mr. Belfin let Kenny borrow his), so when you ask me, he's the one who looked like he was going to get married.

Independence Day!

TODAY IS INDONESIA'S INDEPENDENCE DAY!! Yay!!!!

Anyway, Indonesia has been independent for 65 Years!!!! Yay Indonesia!!

So, I'm pretty happy about this.
Now, to the topic...

Today, my school is having its own competition and flag ceremony
At the flag ceremony, I was one of the choir group, I don't know why, but my voice was bad (to me)
Anyway the place was burning up!!! It was like seriously the worst!!
I respect my country but the flag ceremony almost knocks me out.

What about the competition? Well, I don't join any of it because I'm one of the Student Council Committee, so I gotta keep watch. It's pretty annoying because I have no idea what to do and because I can't play!
But on the bright sight the Student Council plays Tug-Of-War versus the teacher and we WON!!!

YAY!!!

So it's a pretty great day.

KeroPla

Okay, it has been a long since I've been using that word. It is a Keroro Action figure (Not a toy!), that you build like building gundam.
Pretty fun and a must for any Keroro Collection. Kero comes from the word Keroro and Pla comes from the word Plamo (Plastic model)
It may have been created to resemble the love of gundam from Keroro. So I really like it.

The one that I've been trying to complete is the PIRATES edition, once you've collect them all, you can make a ship out of it!
I have 3 out of 5

Just need the Kururu and Dororo, but they take so long to come out, but I already saw the set of this in the internet (or so I thought), but I already bought one by one... so.... GET THE STUPID KEROPLA ALREADY SHOPS!!!!!

I would've put a picture of the individual transportation but I already made it into 3/5 ship so, I have no time to detached them take a photo of it, attached them together again then taking a picture, maybe next time.

Retreat!

Well, okay I went on a retreat from 11 August to 13 August (So I've just got home) I'm very tried now.
To be honest, it was fun, but the place wasn't that nice. And the food there was horrible!!

One thing that I like is.. EXIST.. (is that how you spell it?)

Anyway, there practically I only have sessions, but on the last day, I had outbound.
Well, I only like the outbound. There, I finally rode the flying fox, never ride it in my life, but it wasn't as bad as I thought, but trying to get through using ropes as bridges are pretty much hard, for a girl. And in fact I LOOK DOWN! I don't know why people said we shouldn't look down, I didn't fall over. But anyway it was fun. And my cousin was there!!

Yeah, it was great.. but I wish they have TV, hot water, Internet, decent bed, and a room with an AC there...
It was great anyway~!

Well, since a blog needs to have a first topic, I'm thinking of something else, because in my opinion doing some stupid introduction is something boring.

SO LET'S JUST GET TO THE POINT!

Let's talk about IDOLS!

Why idols? I feel like it.

When I was asked that question for my school project, I have to answer it in a hurry so I picked Hinagiku Katsura from Hayate The Combat Butler.

But come to think of it. One time I was watching Youtube and I saw this girl from Japan called Senri Kawaguchi and she's a drummer and she knocked out Hina from my list immediately! I've always been interested in drums but, my mom wouldn't let me because "It's for boys" but I became more interested after watching her.
She has been drumming since the age of 5 (no wonder she's awesome!) and now she's 13, almost same like me and she's awesome like AWESOME!!! I only put a picture of her playing GO!GO!MANIAC.
